Active wear tomorrow please!

Good afternoon parents,

Please can the children come in active wear for school tomorrow as we will be completing two Commando Joe missions together in the morning (so no Maths or RWI). I have given the children the choice of taking home their P.E kits to wear for tomorrow but the children can wear whatever they like as long as it is active wear (stuff for running around and getting sweaty in). So no Cinderella dresses! I’m leaving mine at home too.

The children were wonderful today and got stuck in right away with their work. We read ‘Pattan’s Pumpkin’ and spoke about how its similar to Noah’s Ark, we spelt some key words from the book, then in Maths we counted in 10s and solved some x10 questions. After lunch, we searched for recipes on the computers and after break we wrote about what we see often and rarely in our local area. I hope everyone had a lovely Easter!

Best,

Mr Markham

401 USA Challenge Update

I hope you’ve been managing to stay active over the Easter holidays! Here are the updated distances from the end of the Spring Term. Ben Smith really enjoyed his visit to Woodthorpe on Friday 8th April and was incredibly impressed with your achievements since September. I will be collecting passports in again on Thursday. For your information, week commencing Monday 25th April is ‘Week 33’ in the passports.

Happy Easter! – the plan for when we come back

Good afternoon everyone!

I trust you are all enjoying the Easter break and the relative improvement in the weather. I wanted to use this opportunity to give the lowdown on the first week back after the holidays.

Unfortunately, I was poorly for most of the last week so that meant that a lot of the really fun and fabulous finishes I had planned didn’t go ahead: i.e. the alien movie and cardboard city.

Have no fear however, I have arranged for these exciting events to go ahead on the first week back instead (likely at the end of the week). So that will make for an energetic and engaging first week back 🙂

That’s all I wanted to share, in case your child was worried that these things hadn’t gone ahead.

Have a good break everyone!

Best,

Mr Markham

Sing & Sign/Choir

For those pupils who participate in the above group, here is the video with lyrics to the song we have been practicing. Practice singing and learning all the words at home during the holiday (sorry parents) and we will ‘jazz it up’ when we get back next term. A reminder that there will be no choir the first week back and payment will be online (via the usual method) at some point during that week. Enjoy!

Bring On The Power- Good Luck Competition

Bring the Power, Birmingham 2022’s Youth Programme, is inviting young people aged 4 to 14 to send in good luck artwork and letters to welcome athletes to the Commonwealth Games this summer. A selection of artwork and letters will be rewarded with some fantastic prizes.

Feel free to complete both if you wish. I have attached the templates below. Please return to Ms Lodge by 29th April 2022.
